Kannawidan festival

      This next month January 29 to February 5 we celebrate the Kannawidan Festival. Kannawidan is tradition or heritage in Ilocano. Now on its third year, the festival is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the province, as well as a tribute to its outstanding citizens. A feast of rich heritage and culture of heavenly and alluring sites; with endearing and worth knowing historical significance Ylocos festival of the province of Ilocos Sur formally opened on January 29 at the Quirino Stadium in Bantay, Ilocos Sur, until February 13 at Candon City. The festivity features the heritage culture of the province which dates back two centuries ago. Government Ryan Luis V. Singson said the street dancing and showdown of the product of the 22 towns of the province marked the festivities.      Change is inevitable in life. Everything around us is changing with the passage of time. Each individual get a change to bring a change in his life. Some welcome it with a smile as a challenge while other refute it and stick to their type routines. Changes can be categorized under two main types. Changes that take place in nature we have little or no control over. We cannot, for instance, switch the time of tides, which anyway, wait for no one. The other kind of change is the one we witness either in political, social or other fields including the area of personal life.      Changes come about everyday of my life. Some of the changes are good, some are bad, and the rest do not affect me in a positive or negative manner. Vigan city festival The Vigan Town Fiesta is commemorated in the northernmost part of the Philippines in Ilocos region. At present, the festival gathers a lot of tourists who come to see the presentations they do for the show.
